"Pain is a request for change. Your brain gets input from the affected part your body, then interprets that information as a threat or not, ultimately giving you the message that you need to do something differently."

MARIA CONDE
FOUNDER OF CONDE FITNESS AND RECOVERY
In 2016, I became a certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and began my career in a gym setting in Wellington, FL. Over the next four years, I had the opportunity to train a wide range of clients—including Olympic and Equestrian athletes—helping them prevent injury, improve performance, and stay prepared for competition. I also worked with individuals on weight loss and general fitness, guiding them toward healthier, more active lifestyles.
But as much as I enjoyed helping people reach their goals, I found myself asking a deeper question:
Why aren’t more people living active lives?
The answer became clear after I started working alongside a Chiropractor. I discovered that many people struggle with physical inactivity not because of a lack of motivation, but because of pain—pain rooted in past physical injuries, emotional stress, or chemical imbalances. These underlying issues often lead to movement dysfunction and postural imbalances that make exercise feel difficult or even impossible.
To better support my clients, I pursued additional certifications in Behavior Change, Corrective Exercise, Assisted Stretching, and Activation/Integration Techniques. This expanded skill set allows me to take a holistic approach to wellness—helping people heal first, so they can move better, feel better, and ultimately live better.
Today, my mission is simple:
Help people overcome pain and limitations so they can return to the active lives they deserve.
Whether you’re recovering from an injury, dealing with chronic discomfort, or just want to move with more confidence and ease—I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

SLATER WOLFORD

I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Exercise Science, where I developed a deep understanding of human movement, exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, and long-term health. My education has been complemented by years of hands-on experience working with individuals of all fitness levels, from those taking their first steps toward a healthier lifestyle to experienced athletes looking to maximize performance.
In addition to personal training, I've worked in cardiac rehabilitation, giving me valuable experience helping individuals safely improve their health through exercise. I also served as a graduate researcher and program coordinator at Wake Forest University, where I worked on clinical research that focused on exercise, health, and physical function while mentoring students and teaching undergraduate courses. These experiences allowed me to stay current with the latest research, so now I can apply proven methods to every training program I create.
I believe there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to fitness. Every client has different goals, limitations, and motivations, which is why I take the time to build personalized programs designed specifically for you. Whether your goal is weight loss, building muscle, improving athletic performance, increasing mobility, or simply feeling better in everyday life, we'll create a plan that fits your lifestyle and keeps you progressing. What matters most to me is building relationships based on trust, encouragement, and accountability.
I'll celebrate your victories, help you work through setbacks, and provide the education and support you need to make lasting changes, not just temporary ones. If you're ready to invest in your health and discover what you're truly capable of, I'd love to help you get there. Let's work together to build strength, confidence, and habits that last a lifetime.
